Creating a free website in Bravenet's Bravesites is quite simple. You'll need an email address and an idea of the user name you wish to use to get started. You register your name, password, email, and a verification code number will be sent to your email address. You copy it and paste it into the site verification box a few minutes later and check the box that says "I'm not a robot". You should then be ready to start working on your new website.
Next, you will see a gallery of templates to select from. The black dots below them can be clicked on to navigate thru many additional templates. There are many to select from that range from culinary to office to trades etc. I chose a keyboard which would suggest office skills. This will get you set up. I also chose the basic domain name which is "edj.bravesites com" The building uses a basic web editor and is simple to use. You can upload images from your computer, set hyper links, and type content such as a resume. And more. Bravesites request you add or modify your site at least once every 90 days, or they may remove it due to inactivity.
This free website allows you to upload files, such as photos, but they have to be less than 150 kb in size. As per views, you are allocated 1.5 gb of traffic. But you probably won't use that much ... The basic idea behind having a free website in this is to host an online resume, contact info, a few good photos of the work you do. I'd suggest stating references are available on request and those sent to an employer via email. Set up a gmail account just to use for your job search, a website like this, and only send you Cell # to an employer via email.
And lastly, consider having business cards with your name, website, and email address printed on them. You could respond to a job ad via email and should they request a resume write a cover letter and attach your business card. If they want the resume they can print it from the screen. This way they can also see photos of your work, work station, you at work if trades related or what ever.
